Dilemma...

I thought that having a bigger role to play in my current company is a good blessing.

Now I have another offer from another company for a consultant or senior engineer role. This other company has a better track record in terms of financial standings, history and general perception.

But I'm afraid to move, because it could mean that I have to start all over again. But at the same time, the current company isn't the best one in the country right now.

What should I do???

if u are looking for money = go to one that gives more $$ satisfaction.

if u are looking for a balance with money and work and people and leader and advancement and opportunities = stay

if u are looking for job satisfaction only = go to one that gives u more of satisfaction than anything.

diffrent ppl have different preference. the personality test thingy, etc. so its not wrong do be someone or doing something that is totally not approved or against the norm or what mar. do what is necessary.

my bet: LEAVE THE CURRENT one and join the new one.

i'm sure you make much better decision than me. in this case, my opinion will be to stay.

companies treasure loyal employees, and since your abilities are being recognised in your current company, stay on.

you already know this company inside out, you know how to tackle the ppl in the company, how to deal with them, this will be your advantage.

and when they look for ppl to promote, for sure they will select those who has been with the company for a while, know the company way of working...you know...experience...

if i were you..i'd stay on..becos the mgmt are starting to notice your talent..

besides, don't fix it if it ain't broken. hehe...

current score:
stay=1
leave=1

would like to hear alex's opinion which is different from jyon's...

...does it matter if u leave now and start again. if u think u have the time to start all over again and wanted to start all over again in tht new place, then leave for the better. if you think you do not want to start again and already saw the opportunity in the current one, stay. u have a long way ahead of u there.

not that i suggest you to leave, but looking at ur track record (wakakaz, sorry kns), my BET is that you will leave and join the new one.

knowing my dear kns, if you want to stay, you would not even ask this questions...

My ex ex ex boss told me three important things bout working for others.

1. Right industry/field
2. Right company
3. Right boss (immediate supervisor)

Which is y I left the company coz, I didn't find the industry appeal to me that time.

I am working in exactly the same industry as yours. Seize the new opportunity to get more project exposure. After that your skills and experiences will be very valuable in this field.

PS: If the new company name contains two consecutive "s", then i advise you to ask someone you know whom have worked there. ;)
